Casa de piedra is located in the hamlet of A Retorta in Os Muiños, on the Costa da Morte, one of the most beautiful and unspoiled coastlines in Galicia. A quiet walk along the stream leads to the beach in about 15 minutes; you can already smell the sea from the house. By car it's just about 2 minutes.
For many years the house served as the private holiday home of a couple who were friends of ours. When they fulfilled their dream of having their own home in 2015, Casa de piedra suddenly stood empty, and my mother and I asked ourselves a simple question: what should we do with this special place? The answer came quickly: not just rent it out, but show people from all over the world our homeland.
Together with my mother Magdalena, I live in the neighbouring house on the same plot: close enough to be there for you at any time, discreet enough for you to have your space entirely to yourselves.
For over 10 years I have welcomed families with up to three generations here (grandparents, parents and grandchildren together), as well as couples from all over the world, from Los Angeles to South Korea and everywhere in between. Many come back: the record is held by a French family, loyal for 8 years now (as of 2026). A glass of Atlántico sparkling wine and a Tarta de Santiago on arrival are just as much a standard here as a personal handover of the keys with a short introduction to the house: by me when I'm in Galicia, otherwise by Magdalena, who lives there year-round.
As soon as you've booked, I send you a Costa da Morte overview with the most beautiful sights, so you can plan your holiday at your own pace, and before your arrival the exact location for Google Maps. On arrival, a guest folder in your language will also be waiting for you.

Buenavista is a family project, and each of us contributes in our own way.
I take care of everything around your stay: from the first enquiry through the booking to personal excursion tips, restaurant recommendations, and this website. All the photos on BuenavistaHom.es are also mine, showing our homeland first-hand. It brings me joy to bring the Costa da Morte closer to people and to give them an unforgettable holiday.
My mother Magdalena is the soul of Buenavista. With great care she prepares the house for every stay, tends the garden with real dedication, and makes sure our guests feel at home from the very first moment. Since she lives there all year round, she also hands over the keys whenever I'm not in Galicia. Many of our guests mention in their reviews exactly this warmth, the cleanliness, and the loving atmosphere that make Buenavista a special place.

Whether it's a quiet riverside path to old water mills or beaches and villages along the whole coast: here, the surroundings are part of the stay.
Right from the village, a walking path follows the Río Negro to the beach, passing several lovingly restored old water mills, over a length of about 1.5 km. The path is part of the well-known Camiño dos Faros hiking trail between Camariñas and Muxía.
My guests keep raving about this very path:
"El camino que sale de Os Muiños hasta la playa parece sacado de un cuento — es algo que todo el que se hospede en la casa debe hacer."

Os Muiños sits right at the centre for discovering the Costa da Morte: from Muros via Fisterra, Muxía and Camariñas all the way to Malpica.
Centrally located on the Costa da Morte: easily reachable both towards Muros and towards Malpica, and about 1 hour from A Coruña and Santiago de Compostela airport.
Just a few kilometres away, one of Europe's most moving pilgrimage routes comes to an end: the Camino de Santiago to Muxía and Fisterra, where for centuries the sea has marked the end of a long journey. This special sense of arrival can be felt throughout the whole region.
Galicia is famous for its seafood, and José is happy to share personal restaurant tips for the area, from simple taverns to a spectacular sunset dinner. A classic in Muxía: D'Alvaro.
"Your restaurant recommendations were spot on, Jose. We loved D'Alvaro in Muxia..."

An ideal base for those wanting to walk parts of the Camino de Faros or eat industrial quantities of seafood. Jose and Maria were lovely and incredibly helpful.

BuenavistaHom.es is a personally run guest house on the Costa da Morte. I place great importance on cleanliness, peace and quiet, and a carefully prepared home: that's why an extra day deliberately stays open between stays for cleaning, upkeep and inspection.
"This way I can make sure every guest finds a house prepared with the same care as if I were welcoming friends into my own home."
Write to me via WhatsApp, phone or email: I'll be happy to get back to you with all the details on availability, arrival and price proposals.
I rent from 6 nights up to 1 month. A longer stay is possible by arrangement.
